Plan R4 by GordonCZ Quote: This small mod covers the Allied operations in Norway during April - June 1940 in a 4-mission custom chapter including several new units and changes.
NEW UNITS & CHANGES:
* SdKfz 251 Ausf. A with MG34 (model by tod0001) * Gloster Gladiator Fighter Plane (model by Leclerc) * groups of Norwegian soldiers (5th and 6th Norwegian Divisions) * reskinned groups of Polish soldiers equipped with French weapons (Polish "Podhale" Brigade) * arrangement of all Allied infantry groups is revised so the soldiers are not too close to each other (mainly in Polish and British groups) * light mortars have now longer range so they can be used as a suppressing artillery more effectively.
INSTALLATION:
After installing this mod into "...\Blitzkrieg\Run\Mods\R4" folder, run Blitzkrieg, select "Options" then "Load Mod" and choose "Plan R4 v 1". If successfully installed and loaded, an image of "Plan R4" should appear in main menu with the corresponding text string in the lower right corner. To run the custom chapter "Plan R4" made for this mod, go to "New Game" -- "Custom Game" -- "Custom Chapters" and select "Plan R4". Download

And 1st mission is very nice :] Hope to check other missions later (or this pleasure would be extended for 4 days, one map per evening? )

Nice stuff GordonCZ! Very refreshing to have some nice, fairly quick maps with some new scenery. For some reason the Italian campaign has been fairly overlooked as well. I've yet to see a really good Monte Casino map with the Poles against the Falschirmjager and all that. Glad to see there are folks out there willing to put the time into making the game seem new again.

Great to see you like it. It is actually a two-years-old stuff, which I have now accidentally found on my hard disc while working on MC. To Ocelo:Joseph_Porta wrote: The only allied armour was some Hotchkiss H-39 tanks in Narvik. German armour was only in the southern Norway. Joseph Porta already said it exactly. Armored units in Norway didn't play any role that you would notice. As far as I know, there were only few German Pz I, Pz II, Pz IV and Neubaufahrzeug tanks and H-39 with Vickers tanks on the Allied side (not guaranteed), but the main job was done by infantry, especially in the north. That's why you don't have core units at your disposal - those Humber cars are there only as a minor support to keep the playability balanced (because I could not obtain H-39 tanks). Anyway, I don't even think that core units would be something important... To 99_rot_wallonen:Maybe, try Achtung Panzer. There is a battle of Monte Cassino already.

A small correction: Only Pz.Kpfw. I and II were used. The Pz.Kpfw. IV was mobilized on the Western border. Remember that Norway (and Denmark) was a secondary front, with not the same priority as defeating the West.
Germany also used a lot of captured and commandered trucks from the Norwegians, so did the British/French. The French were the only Allied nation to bring tanks to the Norwegian theatre.
The dominant "heavy" weapons in the Norwegian theatre were heavy machineguns (Norway's main support and anti-aircraft weapon was the M/29 Colt heavy machinegun), mortars and artillery (LeFH 18 was frequently used by the Germans in this campaign).
BTW, I do not like the sprites of the Norwegians. Their uniforms were dark olive green, and when needed with winter coat (black) or a white camouflage outfit. At least the first two should have green uniforms.
I can also comment on the village houses - they should be mostly wooden buildings. Countryside train stations should rather look the Russian one.

Excellent campaign. Those 4 maps are fun to play. I really like infantry missions; I think they are the most challenging.
Also the terrain is very well done, I like the big mountains, very well done.
It was a long time since I play the original Blitzkrieg, (now I'm playing Stalingrad and the Day After (for me it's the best game in the Blitzkrieg serie)) and one thing I don't like in Blitzkrieg is the truck that can create infantry. I think those missions could be more realists if you didn't have those trucks, but have more troops when you start. Is it just me, or those trucks are very critical in those missions, if you can’t create infantry, you have little chance of success. For me, to finish this campaign, I was using those trucks all the time.
But again, great work, those map are really fun and mission 3 and 4 are very challenging, specially the 4th one !!!

For me, to finish this campaign, I was using those trucks all the time. That's because the attributes of infantrymen are not modified and therefore using those trucks in this chapter is something what's being counted with as a crucial feature. For the forthcoming project Motherland Calls, I already count with improved quality of infantry (and lotta more ). But even as I absolutely agree with you that replenishing infantry as supplies is something really weird, I have to leave this option allowed. Reason is simple - soldiers in BK cannot perform this: --------------------------------- Uzbek wrote: And still additional cards will be on this mods or continuation is planned? Well, I actually found Plan R4 recently on my hard disc while working on MC - two years after I was creating R4 last time. As I knew that it was my first tryout how to technically manage to compose a mod, I thought that as a remnant, R4 would be for nothing. I don't know why but I tried it and realized that it's actually not that bad and because it was almost done, I decided to create new logo and publish it. So that's why it should not be taken as a regular mod or something like that (especially AFM did not approve me to use H-39 tanks), because it is only what have remained of my initial modding experiments. You may take it only as a small chapter with few bonus units. Therefore, no other stuff is being planned (Maybe one additional mission in cooperation with Ufiak).
